Putrajaya, 11th January 2018 – MizanHome team was chosen for representing University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) for Mandate 2018 ceremony that was held at PICC, Putrajaya. The team’s involvement in this event was a big opportunity to introduce and promote more about our MizanHome design to the VIPs and the other local universities that also joining this showcase at Higher Education Minister Mandate 2018 ceremony.
As for this year, the theme was ‘Higher Education 4.0: Knowledge, Industry and Humanity’ which is a continuum from the last year’s theme ‘Redesigning Higher Education’. Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh stated in his speech that the ministry still continuing to redesign the higher education while taking into paramount the idea of 4IR (4th Industrial Revolution).
He added that a revamp on the design of higher education learning and teaching to cater to the dawning of 4IR.
The participation of University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) in Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) was a start for the students of Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment to achieve the minister’s idea of 4IR.
Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) 2018 embraces the goal of developing and promoting ideas, capacities, and technologies that can be implemented for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Middle East region. Each project must be a good response to our cultural, climatic and social contexts, as well as a high-performance prototype that should successfully perform during the period of time during which it compares with others. All proposals should be focused on solving the issues and needs for the sustainable living in this region, where high temperatures, high humidity, and dust condition our daily lives during most part of the year.
The MizanHome team from USIM with the collaboration of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) hoped that they will at least achieve the goals and make the country proud as MizanHome is the only finalist from Malaysia among the 21 team came from 14 countries. The 14 countries are from UAE, Australia, France, Italy, Jordan, Netherlands, Oman, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia And Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and the United States.
